Through Martin's eyes

I think the story is told through Martins’s perspective, I think this because it’s always following what he does like during the scene when Ethan killed the two guys trying to steal their money.  If it was Ethans perspective we would have seen the whole thing getting set up.  Instead it goes dark when Martin goes to sleep and it gets bright right before they start shooting.

I would have to say that I relate more to Ethan than Martin however.  Ethan goes after what he wants and things have to go his way.  While Martin doesn’t know what he wants and is just along for the adventure.

  1. I would agree that Martin has an equally, if not more important roll in the movie than Ethan. Martin risks his life to find the remaining member of a family he is not actually related to, and is the focus of the movie in scenes like you mentioned. scenes where Ethan goes off and yet the camera remains on Martin. Despite this Ethan seems to be a more predominant character because of his leadership and control over the others around him. The control that Ethan has is what make people relate to him because most people want to be looked at as the leader and not the follower, even if the follower ends up with a pretty girl and a good job at the end of the movie.
